Mid-February ToDo's...

A blast from the past - "Pops" and I, back in 1986.  My first C2, a 1965 roadster.

Jerry and I pulled out the hammer drill and added some eyelets to the garage floor

This way we can strap down the frame as we jack up the rear spring

Got the '64 ready for the Central California NCRS trip.  Oil change, steering damper shock...

New on the left

Also replaced the rear carrier bushings

Old one was 'shot'

Replaced the seat adjustment lever in the '63

Onto the '63 tire tub and lid refurbishment

Lid taped up, time to sand & paint

Hump Day on the '63 Fuelie

Lots of ToDo's before Suisun City...
    - Electrical: Parking Brake "alarm" light doesn't work.  Need to track down.
    - Fast idle on Fuel Injection is @ 2200 RPM, need to drop it to 1800
    - Seat mounting brackets need sanded, primed & painted on both seats

Ahhh, that doesn't look "correct"  ; )

Looks like some wiring clean-up is necessary

Step 1: Check fuses (look good)
Step 2: Check switch (looks fine)
Step 3: Wire the ground & power switch wires together. The "brake" light activates, so the bulb is fine.
Step 4: Wiring looks questionable, so let's clean that up...

This is the '63-only parking brake alarm switch.  The capacitor  mounts at the end of that black bolt.  This green wire had a questionable solder connection.

   Some wiring clean-up, new connectors and BINGO!  I have a flashing "Brake" light again when the parking brake is activated.

Fast idle adjustment screw (tip of pen). Counter-clockwise to drop the idle down.

Me likey!  1,800 RPM at cold start.

Gonna start with the driver-side seat brackets

Wire brush, sandpaper, Navy Jelly, acetone.  Rinse & Repeat.

A little touch-up on the side rails as well

Tidying up post-heater core install. Radio side panels & glovebox back in...

OK, got the radio side panels installed, and putting the horseshoe back on...

Passenger side done...onto the glovebox

Decided to clean/grease the wiper joints 

I guess the dust was leftover from the new paint job/sanding.  A little dusting is in order.

Monday rain day: hood release & interior paint work

Ruby's old hood release cable (on right), and NOS one on left.  Not sure how, but my existing one was too short 

I should've taken a pic of the old one...the wire barely made it through the hood cable release stop.  Not sure why/how it became so short?

Got the left & right radio side panels re-sprayed. Looks kinda glossy here, but it dries the correct satin.
