Finalizing motor components

Vaseline trick - coated the rivets/bolts/rubber components prior to paint in engine compartment

Just wiped it off after paint.  Voila!
Remember the damaged clutch fork?  I panic'd and ordered one from one of the Corvette Supply houses...

And a day later, one shows up on CraigsList.  3 miles from my house!  Got it for $35!  Original beats Repro any day.
Getting closer...
Exhaust manifolds sand blasted & dressed!

Busy weekend...

Freshly turned flywheel
Rented a Pilot Bearing puller from O'Reilly Auto
Attached to a slide hammer
Pilot bearing out! Old vs. New - ouch.
New Flywheel on
Luk Clutch kit installed
Curveball: my clutch fork tooth was broken on the clutch fork spring
Had to put the motor on hold
Looking' good though!
Onto the wheelwells - using 3M undercoat product
Cleaned up the firewall - ready to tape
Taping complete - ready to spray
Krylon satin black going on...
Engine bay complete!

Washer pump rebuild

Had a leak in windshield washer pump
I was going to replace the entire unit, but decided to just do the rubber gasket
The "bright white" updated unit just didn't look correct. Decided to just replace the internals, and stick with the 'yellowed' original one.
Done!

Windshield Wiper Motor

Needed to remove the Wiper motor.
Removed the glovebox door and glove compartment.

Removed the clip from the wiper transmission

Even with the clip removed, the transmission rods didn't wanna come apart!

Unplugged the electrical connections at the firewall

Out came the wiper motor!

All original!

This'll make it easier to paint the firewall
